Speaker 1:

It's. Let me catch you up on what's happening with John. Of the dream In our previous part, part one, john had that wonderful dream about going to London Bridge and meeting someone, and that someone was going to tell him something very important. And, to cut a long story short, he bumped into that Londoner, didn't he? He bumped into that Londoner, didn't he? And that Londoner told him about a person, not such a clever person, living from Swatham in a cottage with a wonderful wife. And there was a treasure underneath this cottage.

Speaker 1:

And that's where I left you off, with John saying oh, my word. And so here we go, so join me for a time of story. So John goes. That's it, that's the news, that's the person, that's the special stuff I came to listen to. And without hesitation, he ran and he ran and he ran and he ran and he ran and he ran and he ran and he ran and he got home and he said to his wife grab a shovel, grab anything you can dig with, come with me. And they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug until clunk, that wonderful confirming sound of metal on metal.

Speaker 1:

And John revealed this beautiful cauldron full of coin. I mean, a treasure that you can't imagine the amount of value that this treasure had. And they said, oh my word, oh my gosh, look at this. They were very poor people, so this was such a transformational experience and they had many days of happiness with this money, food, luxuries like you can't imagine. But there was one thing that was bothering them. There was an inscription on the cauldron in Latin. And now, being dull, john or his wife for that matter, they didn't go to a school where you learnt Latin, so they didn't know what this inscription said. They looked at each other and they thought who could help us with this? And they knew who to go to the priest, that crow bent over, old, dusty priest, that grey creature of a man.

Speaker 1:

So they went over to the church and they showed the priest this cauldron and this inscription. They said father pastor, what does it say? The pastor? He reads it and he says underneath me is something richer, underneath me is something richer. And John looking at his wife, and they knew exactly what they needed to.

Speaker 1:

So they rushed out of the chapel all the way home again, and they grabbed their shovels and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug and they dug, until that wonderful quonk of a sound, metal on metal, and again revealing a much bigger, with much more coin. What a rich, what riches and what beauty that has come their way. But you know, it was the most beautiful thing. They looked at each other and they realized, wow, that scarcity was no more. They had enough. They knew they had enough, and so John's wife said to him someone else can do with this money and they knew exactly who to take it to.

Speaker 1:

So, off, they walked in the dark night while the moon was rising. They went to the church and they knocked on the door and the crow creature of a priest who's probably never smiled for about 10 years opens the door and John says to him remember I had a dream? Yes, the priest says, yes, I need a vision. Well, john said to him well, I think I have that vision. And he handed over this wonderful treasure and something happened that no one expected.

Speaker 1:

And something happened that no one expected the priest, through his blue, watery eyes, started to glimmer, started to glitter, started to shine and he smiled.

Speaker 1:

I mean he really smiled. And then he put one foot in front of the other and another foot in front of the other and he started to dance. I mean, it was actually quite awkward watching this very old man come to life, but he started to dance and people started to hear what was going on and people bought candles and people started to have a party, people started to coming back to church and it slowly revealed who was in this village. You had painters, you had people who are good with woodwork, you had people who are good with steel work, you had people with art, and soon that church was filled with life. And you know, what was even better than the actual coin was hope. The place started to fill with hope. Our friend John. You see, he left chasing a dream, but he returned with a vision, and you know it was the last dream he ever had, because if any one of us had a dream like that, I suppose that's the only dream that we would need.
